Independent guides to Payroll Relief, payroll workflows and employee access
Payroll software is rarely experienced by only one person. An accounting firm may operate the payroll system, an employer may supply hours and approve information, and an employee may interact with nothing more than a pay statement or year-end tax form.
That division of responsibility is exactly where confusion starts.
Payroll Systems Desk is an independent editorial publication covering how payroll platforms are organized and how the people around them interact. Our current research desk focuses on Payroll Relief, the accountant-oriented payroll platform historically associated with AccountantsWorld and now part of the broader IRIS ecosystem. IRIS acquired AccountantsWorld in 2021, while Payroll Relief product and application resources continue to appear under AccountantsWorld and Payroll Relief branding.
We are not Payroll Relief, AccountantsWorld or IRIS Software Group. We do not operate their payroll systems, issue credentials, process payroll or collect employee login information.
Start with the right guide
If you are researching the platform itself, begin with our Independent Guide to Payroll Relief. It explains what the system is designed to do, why accounting firms are central to its model and how employers and employees fit around that relationship.
If you are simply trying to access an existing account, use Payroll Relief Login & Access: Choosing the Correct Route. The purpose of that guide is not to imitate a sign-in page. It helps readers identify whether they are an accounting-firm user, employer/client user or employee before following an official external resource.
Employees who already know that their company uses the Payroll Relief Employee Portal can instead use our Employee Portal Payroll Relief Guide, which explains the portal’s role in pay statements, payroll tax forms and personal-information access. Official current documentation describes employee portals as a way for employees and contractors to view and maintain certain personal information and access pay statements and W-2s when their employer or payroll provider has enabled portal access.
For accounting and payroll professionals
Payroll Relief was built around professional payroll processing rather than a simple do-it-yourself employee experience. Official product materials emphasize capabilities such as batch processing, direct deposit, payroll tax handling, reporting and multi-client practice-management tools.
Our payroll-team section therefore goes beyond feature lists. It examines the workflow itself:
How Payroll Relief Processing Works follows information from payroll entry through review and approval.
Direct Deposit in Payroll Relief explains employer prerequisites, employee banking setup and where administrative responsibility sits.
Permissions and Client Collaboration looks at why one employer may be allowed to enter payroll while another sees a narrower interface.
Payroll Relief Integrations examines the boundary between payroll processing and accounting, timekeeping and other business systems.
Payroll documents and compliance
For many employees, the most visible products of payroll are a paycheck, pay statement and W-2. For accountants, the same underlying data feeds a much broader compliance process.
Our W-2, Tax Filing and Year-End Workflow article approaches these documents from both sides without pretending that a general editorial website can replace firm-specific payroll instructions or tax advice.
Evaluating the platform
Organizations considering Payroll Relief need more than a list of features. They need to understand who will own payroll operations, how much control clients should receive, what integrations matter and which costs grow with the practice.
That is why our evaluation section includes separate guides to security, pricing and fit, and the relationship between AccountantsWorld, IRIS and Payroll Relief.
How we research
We prioritize current first-party documentation from IRIS, AccountantsWorld and official Payroll Relief help resources for claims about the product. App-store listings can help verify the current employee/mobile experience. Independent software publications and professional communities are useful for discovering questions to investigate, but individual comments are not presented as established facts.
When a function, price, policy or interface can change, we identify the source and avoid presenting an old screenshot or third-party number as permanent.
Payroll Systems Desk is an editorial guide, not an account portal. Never submit a Payroll Relief password, Social Security number or bank-account information to this website.
